Case Study: Archrival's data is now a pleasure
Archrival customers can now self serve data
Summer -
Archrival is a youth culture agency that reinvents how brands win the hearts and minds of young adults. We have been working closely with Rob to help him provide all new visibility into their services for their customers and he graciously agreed to share more about how they’re using Summer.
A little about Archrival and what we needed
At Archrival, we help our clients build powerful and broad reaching social strategies across all the channels where they engage with their audiences. Measuring performance for these campaigns requires pulling data from each platform and analyzing it to optimize our efforts while giving our customers a clear view of what’s working.
We wanted automatic, live updating dashboards so our clients didn’t have to wait for end of campaign reports. This led us to search for an end-to-end data stack that would:
- Extract data from every tool or platform we use.
- Store the data securely, with fast querying and easy access controls.
- Let us build dashboards that we were proud to share with customers.
The hunt for a stack
We looked at more than a dozen solutions. Most felt overly complicated, with different tools for each piece of the stack. Best case scenario we were looking at installing three different products and spending a significant amount of time and money integrating them together. When we talked to the Summer team, we were excited about how simple they made the whole setup. They had everything we needed in one place and getting started was fast.
We needed our data from:
- Facebook Marketing
- TikTok Marketing
- CreatorIQ
- Monday
- Typeform
For social platforms like Facebook and TikTok, we were able to bring the data in and start working with it in minutes. We also utilized Summer’s Lifeguards to help pull data from CreatorIQ, a more niche data source. The Lifeguards helped us understand the CreatorIQ API and build a pipeline to our warehouse.
Our data is now a pleasure
The things that made a huge difference:
- Joining data across platforms - We can connect campaign performance across channels with just a little SQL.
- Viewer customizable dashboards - The Summer team launched their parameters feature while we were building our initial analysis, incorporating a lot of our feedback into the release. Parameters give us the ability to let viewers change date ranges, highlight a specific campaign, and create more flexible dashboards.
- Sharing - Sharing a dashboard on Summer is just like sharing a doc in Google Docs. We control access, create unique dashboards for each client, and know they only see what’s meant for them.
One client, a national coffee chain, now has a live dashboard that shows their social performance across all platforms in one place, something that used to take hours of manual reporting.
Summer has sped up our data operations significantly and now our clients can fully self-serve their data. Instead of data engineering, our analysts can focus on strategy and insights that make us perform better and make our our customers happier.
Summer has become a core part of how we serve our clients, and we’re excited to keep expanding what’s possible. If you’re looking for a way to simplify your data stack while still serving powerful analytics, we’d definitely recommend checking them out.
